Thank You Dawson!

We appreciated everyone who joined us at the Tourism Café in Dawson—and the businesses that welcomed us through their doors for onsite visits.

On the road to Dawson, we also made stops in Carmacks and Pelly Crossing, dropping in on tourism businesses and hearing what’s happening on the ground there too.

We came to listen, and across our conversations we heard some common themes: highway conditions, labour shortages and a slow start to the season—but ultimately, a positive and busy summer.

A special shout-out to the Government of Yukon’s Destination Development Unit for organizing the Tourism Café and coordinating the community visits. We always appreciate the opportunity to work and travel together.

These visits are part of the road to Compass, Yukon’s annual tourism forum. We listen, capture common themes, identify shared priorities and develop actions we can take together.

From conversations across the Yukon to Compass on April 22, 2027—thank you to every business that takes the time to share what’s working, what’s getting in the way and what our industry needs next.
