Connecting Job Seekers with Tourism Careers in Dawson City and Whitehorse

As part of its ongoing labour market development efforts, TIA Yukon participated in and hosted two career events in Dawson City and Whitehorse last week, creating opportunities for local job seekers to connect directly with Yukon’s tourism industry.

Dawson City Career & Entrepreneurship Fair

TIA Yukon hosted a tourism-focused booth at the two-day Dawson City Career & Entrepreneurship Fair hosted by Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Government, connecting with local job seekers and raising awareness of tourism careers in the community.

The Klondike Experience and Northern Vision Development (Dawson Hospitality) joined TIA Yukon at the booth, sharing their perspectives on the role of tourism in Dawson City and the career opportunities available within the local industry.

Fall Tourism Career Inspiration Session at Employment Central

In Whitehorse, TIA Yukon partnered with Employment Central to host a Tourism Career Inspiration Session for local job seekers.

Mount Sima and Muktuk Adventures joined as industry speakers, introducing their businesses and employment opportunities, while five local service providers shared information about supports and resources available to job seekers and workers.

The session concluded with networking between job seekers, tourism businesses, and service providers, providing an opportunity to make direct connections and learn more about employment and support opportunities available in the community.

TIA Yukon thanks all participating businesses, organizations, service providers, and job seekers who contributed to both events.
