SUMMARY:Elevate Workshop Series: Leave No Trace Tourism in the Yukon
DESCRIPTION:Join TIA Yukon and Leave No Trace Canada for a 2 hour workshop focusing on minimizing our impact on natural areas as members of Yukon’s tourism industry. This workshop will focus on Yukon tourism and how we can mitigate the potential negative environmental impacts of high visitation\, especially as tourism resumes\, and how to teach our clients\, staff\, and peers about Leave No Trace. \nThe first hour of the presentation will focus on the Leave No Trace approach\, followed by a discussion on how we as Yukon tourism professionals and residents might help our visitors reduce their impact while enjoying their time here. \nLeave No Trace is an international approach to facilitating responsible outdoor recreation through the application of 7 Principles.  Your hosts will be the Chair of Leave No Trace Canada\, Richard Vinson\, and Michael Connor\, an experienced Leave No Trace Master Educator who has spent time in the Yukon. This will be an engaging session where we can collectively share our ideas and\, ideally\, move forward with an action plan that yields positive outcomes. \nThis free workshop\, part of the Elevate Workshop Series\, will be held through Zoom and is open to anyone in Yukon’s tourism industry from business owners\, to guides\, to employees! \nPlease register for the workshop here: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZItde6srjoqGdfOl0WnhBibxcAq8DGOds1m
