TIA Yukon is seeking input from tourism businesses and operators on the proposed Whitehorse Power Centres Project.
Yukon Energy is undertaking a socio-economic assessment of the project and has invited TIA Yukon to provide an industry perspective on activities in the proposed project areas and potential effects or considerations for land users. Yukon Energy will be conducting separate transmission line routing engagement with nearby operators, select operators should expect to hear from Yukon Energy in the coming weeks.
Before we participate, we want to hear directly from businesses and operators who use the project area for tourism activities, travel through or rely on access through the area, bring visitors into or near the area, or whose visitor experience or future operations could be affected by development there.
In particular, we want to hear from you about:
- How you, your guests or other visitors currently use the area.
- Whether the proposed development could affect your tourism activities, access or routes, views and visitor experience, or future tourism opportunities.
- Any particular locations, seasons or activities that you think need to be considered in the assessment.
- Any other tourism-related considerations you think TIA Yukon should raise.
If this applies to your business or operations, please share your experience with TIA Yukon by September 25, 2026.
TIA Yukon has not taken a position on the proposed project. This outreach is intended to ensure that the experience of businesses and operators who know and use the area informs any perspective we bring to the assessment.
